What is your first thought every morning?

Ugh, I wish I could sleep just a little bit longer.

What is something you do solely for you?

Taking care of my body, I’ve started wearing barefoot shoes, doing yoga, eating healthier, and playing brain games. I want to be a badass old lady someday and still be able to live life freely… but I also drink wine solely for myself, too!

What is something you dread?

Meetings. Especially with my boss; she is a difficult person to connect with and often micromanages. Also, first dates make me so nauseous that it’s almost not worth the free food and drinks (lol).

What is something you are looking forward to?

Owning my own home someday! I can’t wait to live alone with my cats, decorate how I want, and just have my own space. I will make it happen.

When do you feel most accomplished?

On Sunday evenings, after my weekend reset routine- the peace of clean sheets, clean laundry, a clean room- and taking the time to rest after getting things done.

What is something you regret investing in financially?

Buying random crap I don’t need, all of the little things add up. I could have been saving towards something I needed or truly wanted instead of randomly overconsuming.

What is something you regret investing in emotionally?

Men. I’ve realized in the past few years that I much prefer them just for sex and physical touch, and not to get emotionally involved with. Sometimes, I feel like a Sim that needs my “touch bar” filled, and luckily, I have someone who I would never date but enjoy getting jiggy with. Makes it all simpler.

What are three things you think are absolutely worth the investment?

(financially, emotionally, or time/energy-wise)

  1.  Friends, especially gal pals, women are the rocks of each other’s lives.

  2.  Yourself! Your mind, your body, your independence.

  3. Probably stocks; I haven’t gotten around to investing, and I’m sure I’ll regret that in, like, 30 years. Oh well.

When do you feel most creative?

I love to create. I’m not often original, but I love to bake, cook, garden, crochet, make flower arrangements, and do other crafts. I enjoy the satisfaction of making something with my own two hands.

How often do you compare yourself to others? When?

Often, especially physically, on social media. Although I hate to admit that sometimes I compare in ways that make me feel a lot better about my life- because even if that woman on Instagram loves her husband and five kids, I’m really, really glad I haven’t made those choices for myself.

What is one thing you’d like to thank your past self for?

For keeping on when it got hard. My teenage years were wildly difficult, and I’m so grateful they are over. If I got through that, I can get through anything. Also, thanks for not getting pregnant, you little shit.

What is one thing you believe about your future self?

She’ll figure it out, she will find her peace, and it will all be okay.

What is one thing you learned in childhood that you have now had to unlearn in adulthood?

Religion. I was raised very Evangelical, and although I don’t feel the religious guilt that many people feel, I am continually working towards not feeling hostility towards religion. I respect the freedom for others to believe whatever they do, but the harm that Christianity (and many other religions) have caused people, both currently and historically, is hard to “get past.” I am very much a Pagan; if I worship anything, it’s nature and femininity.

Have you ever felt pure joy? When?

I’ve always been a horse girl and am lucky enough to have 3 of my own. There’s no feeling quite like hopping on the back of a trusted horse and galloping full speed across a field - it makes me feel like a little girl again - like we could truly fly away together.

What is something that would feel really good to get off your chest?

My family is often very overwhelming for me. I come from a long line of hoarders and mentally ill people who have never, and likely will never, be diagnosed. Their unwillingness to help themselves has passed down through generations, and it sucks to be the one to break the cycle and to deal with their shit.

When do you feel most in your feminine energy?

When I am alone, when I don’t feel the urge to “look pretty” or act a certain way, and can just be me, a woman, a whole human being all on my own.

What is one interaction that changed your life?

I work mostly with kids, and sometimes my job is draining. I am definitely not paid enough for what I do, but nothing melts me more than when they hug me goodbye at the end of the day. I get to be the adult I needed as a kid for these kiddos. Getting to be a part of the village to raise the next generation of wonderful, empathetic nature people is a blessing.

What is something you want to give up?

Worrying about other people’s perceptions of me - or even their assumed perceptions - and letting that influence me more than it should.

What is something you want to take up?

I’ve always wanted to learn how to juggle.

What do you believe is a universal truth?

I believe in karma and in the universe holding a balance. What you give is what you get back - even if it’s not always how you think it should be.

BONUS: Tell me something good.

I recently did a fragrance quiz to get some test perfumes to try- I want to find my signature scent so I’m excited for them to arrive!
