What is the most important part of your daily routine?
Making sure to get some sort of movement in….and completing the NYT Wordle and Connections games.
What is your current happiness most dependent on?
I find happiness knowing that I have at least one weekend day where I can relax at home. I used to find joy running around and having constant plans and now I crave more of a balance.
What do you wish you were less reliant on?
Stimulants. I have ADHD and can’t function without my medication. I’ve tried going off of it a few times and realized, unfortunately, that I need it. I hate having to rely on anything, especially something that is growing more scarce and costs $$$$$$.
When do you question yourself?
All.of.the.time. I am always challenging my own decisions with the other perspective. It’s exhausting at times. I even keep reviewing my answers to these prompts and questioning if they are “good” enough or if I have a better answer. sigh
What is something that has positively impacted how you perceive your self-worth?
My friendships. I am surrounded by the most amazing humans on this planet. I realize that I can’t be all that bad if they CHOOSE to hang out with me. They make me better and I am so grateful.
What is something you have forgiven yourself for?
Not spending enough time with my parents/grandparents.
What is something you have forgiven someone else for?
Addiction and the action that stem from it. It takes a hell of a lot of courage to get sober and own up to hurting the people around you. I will always hold forgiveness in my heart for those willing to get better.
How do you ground/center yourself?
Spending time alone. I am a socialite and love being around people…but I need to be alone to get back to my baseline. That’s how I recharge and reflect. The only exceptions are my best friends from childhood. They keep me grounded.
What is one thing that helped you through your most difficult time?
Running. I had dealt with a few tough losses and running was a healthy coping mechanism. I was terrible at it so I know I would be proud of any and all progress. That and journaling. It was really special looking back and seeing how f*ing miserable I was…and watching my tone become more positive as the pages turned. It’s also SO cringe and cute seeing the tear-stained letters on the page. It gets better, sis!!!!
Have you ever felt like the best version of yourself? When?
I am right now :)
What is something you fundamentally disagree with?
I have an almost feral distaste for line-cutters. If you cut people in a line, there has to be a phenomenal reason for it. Clearly I avoid lines in general for this reason.
What is something you know for sure?
Friendships and connection can heal all wounds.
What are three of your non-negotiables in romantic relationships?
Saying, thank you.
Expressing wants/needs openly.
KIND-NESS
When do you feel most comfortable in your own skin?
When I’m with my friends, rotting on someone’s couch. Or in a dance class.
Have you ever been in awe of something/someone? When?
Every time I attend spin class. HOW do the instructors pedal so fast and for so long!?!? They truly amaze me!
What is the best (physical/material) gift you have ever received?
My papa got me a guitar when I was 14 and I still have/play it to this day.
What is one thing you wish you had said ‘yes’ to in the past?
One time my dad asked me to go to breakfast with him on a Saturday and I said, no, because I was going to the beach with my friends. He has since passed away and I hate myself for every hour I didn’t spend with him.
What is one thing you will always say ‘no’ to in the future?
Taking a red-eye flight. ALL SET!
What do you believe is your most attractive quality?
My sense of humor, for sure.
What/who do you want to be when you grow up?
Myself.
BONUS: Tell me something good. The people who voiced Mickey and Minnie mouse were married in real life!
