#240. fresh air, frontal lobes & making eye contact

Age: 27

Relationship Status: Married for 5 years

Occupation: Patient Operations Facilitator

Income: Comfortable enough to contribute, but I am surely not the household breadwinner, and that is okay

Astrological Sign: September Virgo

What is the most important part of your daily routine?

Getting outside and fresh air within an hour of me waking up. I think they call this grounding now, but I just need it to not feel claustrophobic working from home all day.

What is your current happiness most dependent on?

Currently, it's knowing the positive impact I make in my inner circle.

What do you wish you were less reliant on?

I fear I try not to be too reliant on anything - is that a red flag?

When do you question yourself?

When I'm making a decision that I know will change the trajectory of my current path - that shit is heavy.

What is something that has positively impacted how you perceive your self-worth?

Believing myself when I feel like a good person - after 25 the frontal lobe does develop, kids. Hang on tight.

What is something you have forgiven yourself for?

I forgive myself for everything. Life is too short to carry a lot.

What is something you have forgiven someone else for?

A mental state someone was in and what they might have done in said during that time. It’s important to forgive and support, whether close by or with boundaries, lead with love.

How do you ground/center yourself?

I take a lot of deep breaths throughout my day. My body is tense throughout the day, and it helps so much.

What is one thing that helped you through your most difficult time?

Reminding myself that I get to choose my thoughts. I sit with a lot more nowadays but am able to get out of things quicker.

Have you ever felt like the best version of yourself? When?

Not yet in 27 years, and that's okay. I feel like I am on my way to the best version of myself and enjoying that. I genuinely enjoy the person I am becoming.

What is something you fundamentally disagree with?

The government is trying to be involved in the decision-making process in reproduction.

What is something you know for sure?

One day, I will cease to exist in my physical body.

What are your three non-negotiables in romantic relationships?

1.     Being comfortable with hard and uncomfortable conversations and feelings. Things grow from this.

2.     Love Languages - educating yourself on receiving vs giving.

3.     Respecting individuality within a partnership. Do what your partner likes even if you don't sometimes.

Have you ever been in awe of something/someone? When?

Addiction is hard. To watch my best friend crawl out from her own personal hell was eye-opening. I will forever be in awe of her strength.

What is the best gift you have ever received?

I'm not a big receiver of gifts, but the first thing that came to my mind was a JBL speaker—dance it out queen, every day.

What is the one thing you wish you had said yes to in the past?

Nothing comes to mind - I've said yes to everything I've truly wanted.

What is one thing that you will always say no to in the future?

Say no to judging a single soul on their outward appearance. There are enough ways in this world for everyone to have one.

What do you believe is your most attractive quality?

My eyes! I love making eye contact with people. It feels intentional. I have green eyes that twinkle in the light and sometimes make my world feel small.

BONUS: Tell me something good.

I LOVE my parents even after they got a divorce! I was an early teen and becoming self-aware. I went through a lot, but I got to the other side where I have so much love and appreciation for their individual lives. Divorce is only a part of their story, not the whole thing!
